The Bristol Seafood Grill has been an icon in the city since 1980, offering the area’s freshest premium seafood, an impressive selection of wines and handcrafted signature cocktails. The Bristol originally opened on the Country Club Plaza on April 9, 1980. It then moved to its current Town Center Plaza location in Leawood, KS in 1996. With the move, the Bristol transported the iconic dome that can now be viewed in the restaurant’s main dining area.
Over the years Bristol has received numerous accolades including:
- 2012 Chosen as Zagat’s 10-highest-rated Kansas City Restaurant
- 2013 Favorite Fine Dining Restaurant – KC Visitors’ Choice Awards

The Bristol has undergone very few staff changes over the years. 23 employees have been with the company for over 10 years. Dan Uche, the restaurant’s Executive Chef, has been with the restaurant since it opened. The restaurant’s General Manager, Philip Tumberger, has been at the Bristol since 1998.
The Bristol Seafood Grill has also been very charitable to the community by raising over $1,000,000 for Truman Medical Center.
