CrossFirst Bank today announced the purchase of a new corporate headquarters at 11440 Tomahawk Creek Parkway in Leawood, Kansas. After extensive renovations, the 131,000-square-foot building will house executive offices for $2.5 billion CrossFirst Bank and parent-company CrossFirst Holdings, along with services and support, credit administration, accounting and finance. More than 120 employees will move to the new, state-of-the art facility which will have the capacity for up to 500 team members.

“We are glad that CrossFirst, currently headquartered in Leawood, was able to find a suitable location to expand their operations in our community,” said Kevin Jeffries, Leawood Chamber and Economic Development Council President & CEO. “They are a valued member of the Leawood business community.”

“As we continue to grow the banking franchise in Kansas City, Wichita, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Dallas, our support functions are bursting at the seams,” said Ron Baldwin, Chairman, CrossFirst Bank and Chairman, President and CEO, CrossFirst Holdings. “We are thrilled to move to a new world-class corporate headquarters that will support our strategic growth plans.”

“Our employees are looking forward to settling in to offices designed especially for them,” added CrossFirst Bank COO Amy Fauss, who will lead renovation efforts that include custom work spaces, an auditorium and special amenities. “This new building keeps us from chasing space for the next five years and allows us to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness.”

CrossFirst Bank’s services and support and credit administration groups have currently outgrown their respective facilities on the bank’s Leawood campus at 135th and Roe. The buildings at 4745 W. 136th Street (15,000 sq. ft.) and 4811 W. 136th Street (10,000 sq. ft.) will be sold while the original bank building at 4707 W. 135th Street will continue to serve clients as CrossFirst Bank.

CrossFirst opened a second area bank location at One Main Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri at the end of May. It serves as the hub for most of the Kansas City bank’s business bankers and a private banking group. After renovations and regulatory approval, the new Tomahawk Creek building will include a third Kansas City banking facility for CrossFirst Bank, on the first floor.

CrossFirst Bank will celebrate its 10-year anniversary on October 1, 2017. The company has grown rapidly since it began with $15 million in capital in Overland Park in 2007. Through a highly-targeted strategy to build relationships with business owners, professionals and their families, CrossFirst Bank has reached $2.5 billion in assets and operates banks in Kansas City, Wichita, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Dallas. Parent company CrossFirst Holdings, LLC recently completed a $100 million capital raise in support of expansion. Of the company’s 1250 unitholders, more than 500 live and work in the Kansas City area. In the past 12 months, CrossFirst Bank has increased its total employee base by more than 40 percent; nearly two-thirds of the company’s employees are located in Kansas City.

The new CrossFirst Bank headquarters at 11440 Tomahawk Creek Parkway is being purchased from an investor group led by Ken Block. The building, then named Pinnacle Corporate Centre II, was once an office for CBIZ.
