WalletHub compared over 1,200 cities in the US with populations between 25,000 and 100,000. They used a variety of metrics including factors such as housing costs, school quality, safety and more.
Leawood achieved the No. 3 overall ranking for the second year in a row. It ranked No. 1 in the study’s affordability category, which consists of median household income, cost of living, homeownership rate and housing costs. It was No. 4 for housing costs as well as No. 1 in highest percentage of residents with at least a high school diploma.
